Originally, the masu was a square wooden box used to measure rice in Japan. Today, masu are predominantly used for drinking sake. Our set of two Japanese Masu Wooden Sake Cups features Kanji Longevity engraved on them, making them a perfect choice for sake enthusiasts.

The Wooden Masu in our set are crafted from high-quality hinoki wood, which is Japanese cypress. These cups are designed to be leak-proof, ensuring a hassle-free drinking experience. Each cup measures 3.25 inches square and stands 2.25 inches in height, with a capacity of 4 ounces of sake. The interior dimensions of the cups are 2-3/8 inches square and 1-3/4 inches deep.

Wooden sake boxes are an excellent choice for serving chilled sake. These boxes can be placed on a saucer to catch any dripping. Alternatively, you can serve sake in a glass sake cup nested inside the wooden masu. This allows you to fill the glass until the sake overflows into the wooden masu box, creating a visually appealing presentation.
